Berriedale is located 15 kilometres north of Hobart CBD and today the suburb is home to Moorilla Estate, the first vineyard to make major plantings of pinot noir which is now Tassie’s most successful red-wine grape.
Throughout the year, the Estate attracts locals and wine enthusiasts to it's ongoing concert events, and cellar door tastings. Located 5 minute drive is the famous Cadbury Schweppes Chocolate Factory at Claremont where tours operate on week days and some school holidays. To the south of Berriedale lies the suburb of Glenorchy, which hosts the Aquatic Leisure Centre - one of the most popular swimming pools in southern Tasmania - and the Tasmanian Transport Museum which displays its vintage trams and trains.
As a result of all these cultural events Berriedale has a wonderful selection of accommodation to suit visitors on their next visit to Hobart.
