Cape Tribulation is a headland and locality in northern Queensland, 110 km (68 mi) north of Cairns. It is located within the Daintree National Park and the Wet Tropics World Heritage area. The Great Barrier Reef is very close to Cape Tribulation, and can be reached by boat in 30 minutes from Cape Tribulation Beach. Visitors have the choice of a full day trip, which includes the option to dive, or a half day trip, which provides excellent snorkelling opportunities at two locations on the reef. The snorkelling and diving is spectacular, with the possibility of swimming with a turtle, and snorkelling amongst a multitude of tropical fish. The Daintree Discovery Centre provides an aerial walkway and canopy tower, at Cow Bay, 15 minutes drive north of the Daintree Ferry. The Bat House, at Cape Tribulation provides detailed information on the area, and you can meet a bat face to face. You can climb Mt Sorrow, at 850m high, or you can swim in a freshwater swimming hole at Emmagen Creek, just north of Cape Tribulation.
