It’s easy to get to Hobart from the mainland. There are daily flights from all major cities, or cross the water on the ‘Spirit of Tasmania’ ferry service which operates from Melbourne. Hobart is central to Bruny Island (90 minutes) with its delightful fairy penguins and bushwalks, Launceston (three hour drive) and Strahan (four hour drive).
