Whether on business or holiday, Hobart Gables offers the ideal environment to unwind and experience all Hobart has to offer.

The Gables apartments are on the grounds of "The Gables", a heritage listed property in New Town. The Apartments are a superior class property and are within easy walking distance of the bustling cafe strip of North Hobart.

The apartments were built in the 1940's and each is private, spacious (125sqm) and comfortable, with modern amenities yet retaining all the style of the 40's type architecture. Each apartment boasts 2 large bedrooms (1 king bed and a twin room, with 2 single beds), separate lounge, dining and kitchen, modern bathrooms and outdoor areas.

Each apartment can sleep up to 5 guests. For larger groups, the two apartments combined sleep a maximum of 10 guests & the apartments are linked via an internal staircase.

Each unit is entirely furnished and equipped with all the comforts you need whilst away from home.

The Gables Apartments offer extremely large, sunny balconies with lovely Mount Wellington views.

This is the perfect base from which to explore the renowned culture and cuisine of Hobart while on vacation or business.

Taking ownership of The Hobart Gables in March 2013, Jo-Anne Gray & Grace Di Martino have a combined 40 years experience in customer service. We're Hobart girls & we take pride in showcasing Hobart to our guests & all it has to offer.

Our objective is to provide our guests with clean, stylish & comfortable accommodation where your privacy is respected, high quality bedding & furnishings are provided in a beautiful heritage listed property.

We live on site, in the main residence 'The Gables' & we are available for our guests - whether that be providing directions to attractions or recommending where to eat, what to do & see & where to find a good coffee.

We cater for the needs of families with young children & can provide cots, high chairs, a pram & baby's bath to ensure a comfortable stay for your little one/s.

When you stay you will also come to know the two other residents of 'The Gables', our two maltese, Bessie & Teddy. Bessie & Teddy are siblings, great playmates & perhaps the real 'owners' of The Gables. Teddy is a rescue dog - he can get a little anxious at times & bark, but then he'd lick you 'to death' at the earliest opportunity.

The Hobart Gables is located in a residential area, New Town, one of the older suburbs in Hobart, second only to Battery Point. There are many grand homes on large properties in the area.

This makes for a pleasant walk viewing the older homes & the varied architecture they exhibit, covering many periods.

You will no doubt encounter a number of friendly neighbourhood dogs on your walks as well as some very well established gardens, for which New Town is known.

New Town is a well established suburb of Hobart & Stoke St offers unlimited on street parking for guests.

   Cancellation Policy

Hobart Gables's Cancellation Policy
  • You may cancel your booking at anytime before 5pm, 7 days prior to arrival.
  • If you cancel your booking after the specified period, or if you fail to show up, Hobart Gables will charge you one night's accommodation for each apartment that you have booked and your deposit will not be refunded.

Not1Night’s Policy of Cancellations and Changes
  • Not1Night will charge an administration fee of $10.00 AUD for online cancellations and $15.00 AUD for cancellations or changes made by phone or email.



   Deposits Policy

To secure your booking, we require a 10% deposit of the total accommodation cost. This will be deducted from your credit card at the time of the booking.

The apartments have a keyless keypad entry that requires a code.
We generally use the last 6 digits of the guest's mobile phone number as the code for entry into their apartment.
We will advise you of this in writing upon booking & also will send you an SMS on the morning of your arrival to confirm your details & your keypad code.

Check-in is at 2pm, check-out is at 11am.


   Car Parking

On street car parking is available directly outside the apartments. Parking is FREE all day, ample, safe & the area well-lit.
